Yasemin Ulukan's Innovative Design Offers Customizable Coffee Experience

Ulukan's inspiration for the Arnica Kopuklu stemmed from the desire to offer different flavors, foam, and cup size settings. The machine's unique properties include a heat sensor that can determine the rate of increase in the temperature of the liquid inside with a precision of 0.15 °C. This allows the machine to understand how much water is put into it, ensuring the desired taste and foam even in a single cup in all models.

The Arnica Kopuklu stands out from other coffee machines due to its unique features. It offers users the opportunity to cook coffee at different taste and foam levels by continuously measuring the temperature with a heat sensor and controlling the resistance based on a unique algorithm. The machine also features a luxurious control panel and an ergonomic 3 spout coffee pot, which is completely washable thanks to a specially designed 5 pole sealed connector.

Ulukan and the Senur Design Team overcame technical difficulties caused by the washable coffee pot by designing a universal component that transmits electricity and NTC info. This component was specifically designed for this product and can pass safety tests. The product's size is 15x25x22 cm, and the sensor, which detects the temperature of the liquid, continuously measures with a precision of 0.15 °C.

The Arnica Kopuklu was designed and produced in Istanbul, Turkey, between 2019 and 2021. The design process involved extensive research and testing, including blind tasting tests with hundreds of participants and user surveys. The feedback from these tests and surveys helped shape the product and give it its final form.

One of the main challenges in designing the Arnica Kopuklu was ensuring the perfect taste result in every cup without overflowing. This was achieved by measuring the rate of increase in the temperature of the liquid inside, adjusting the resistance according to the algorithm, and automatically shutting down the machine when the coffee is cooked.

The Arnica Kopuklu's design has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Home Appliances Design Award in 2021. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
